Chimenea Hacienda
Chimeneas are made by hand in the southern part of Mexico. Three kinds of clay are mixed, molded by hand, and burned in a wood-fired oven of about 850-900° Celsius. The oxidized color is painted with a rough cloth.
How to use a Chimenea.
- Make sure the chimenea stands straight before use
- When starting a fire, first slowly burn some newspapers until the chimenea is dry
- It is important to always keep your chimenea dry
- Do not bag a wet chimenea
- During very cold winters, we advise to keep your chimenea in a dry place
Dangers.
- DO NOT USE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE
- Do not move a hot chimenea
- Watch children and pets when the chimenea is hot
- Do not use chemicals or lighter fluid to light your chimenea (The clay will absorb liquids)
- For the same reason never use water to put out the fire in a chimenea
